One Golden Retriever has the internet completely obsessed after developing the sweetest — and strangest — little habit. Instead of bringing home sticks, tennis balls, or shoes, this gentle pup keeps carrying baby rabbits into the house like they’re precious treasures.
Dog owner Abby Green shared the adorable clips online, explaining that her Golden Retriever carefully picks up the tiny bunnies, carries them softly inside, and then simply watches them hop around the house.
And honestly? People cannot handle the cuteness.
According to Abby, the dog is incredibly gentle with the baby rabbits every single time.
“He carries them in ever so gently, sets them down, and then just sits there watching them hop around,” she explained.
While the sweet interactions have melted hearts online, Abby admitted the situation has also caused a little chaos at home.
“My type A heart really isn’t on board with a bunch of baby bunnies in the house,” she joked in the caption, “but it has been a cute little adventure for our kids this week.”

The viral videos quickly filled with comments from viewers who were amazed by how carefully the Golden Retriever handled the tiny animals.
“Poor baby was like, ‘Mom, I’m a Golden Retriever, so I retrieved!’” one person joked.
Another commenter explained that the behavior actually makes perfect sense for the breed.
“Golden retrievers are soft-mouth retrievers. They’re supposed to bring back birds without hurting them,” the viewer wrote. “Plus, they’re so sweet!”
And that’s exactly why the dog seems so naturally gentle with the rabbits.
Golden Retrievers were originally bred to retrieve game for hunters without damaging it, which is why they’re known for having what experts call a “soft mouth.” That means they can carry objects — or in this case, baby bunnies — using very little bite pressure.
Some dogs instinctively know how to carefully hold delicate things without causing harm, especially breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Spaniels, and Poodles.
Experts also say some dogs have strong nurturing instincts, which can sometimes kick in when they encounter tiny or vulnerable animals.
Still, seeing a giant fluffy dog proudly carrying baby rabbits around the house like they’re his personal rescue mission is enough to make anyone smile.
And while Abby may not love surprise bunnies hopping through the living room every day, the internet definitely does.
