Dog parents know the struggle all too well — you can tiptoe into another room, open a snack as quietly as possible, and somehow your dog still appears out of nowhere within seconds. One Golden Retriever named Teddy just proved that dogs truly have a sixth sense when it comes to food.

Teddy’s dad, Jonathan, thought he could sneak in a quick snack while his pup was fast asleep nearby. The adorable Golden Retriever looked completely passed out as Jonathan carefully settled onto the couch with a bag of chips. But the second that bag made even the tiniest crinkle, Teddy’s secret superpower kicked in.

In the hilarious video, the sleepy pup instantly reacts the moment the chips open, proving that even in a deep sleep, dogs are apparently always on snack patrol. Pet owners everywhere could immediately relate to the scene, because honestly, it happens in almost every house with a dog.

Dogs can hear this from a mile away 😂

Jonathan joked that dogs can hear a bag of chips opening from a mile away, and judging by Teddy’s lightning-fast reaction, he might actually be telling the truth.

The funny clip also sparked plenty of reactions from fellow dog owners who admitted their own pets do the exact same thing. It’s almost impressive how dogs can completely ignore their name being called but somehow detect snack sounds from the opposite side of the house.
