A senior rescue cat named Chivas is proving he may be the world’s sweetest big brother.
The lovable cat has been helping bond with his new puppy sister, Hayley, in the cutest way possible: by playing hide-and-seek.
Hayley was rescued in Mexico before coming home to San Francisco, where she joined her new family and met Chivas. The two quickly began forming a special bond, even if baby Hayley did not always understand exactly what was happening.
In a throwback video shared by @im_hayley_comet on May 31, Chivas can be seen playing a simple but hilarious game with his tiny puppy sister.
The video shows Chivas ducking out of sight, leaving Hayley completely confused about where her big brother went.
To viewers, it was clear that Chivas was only hiding. But to little Hayley, it looked like he had vanished into thin air.
Her mix of confusion and excitement made the moment even more adorable.
Luckily, Hayley’s mom was nearby watching the whole scene unfold. Within seconds, the tiny puppy seemed to forget Chivas had disappeared at all and got excited to see her mom instead.

Since Hayley was only 2 months old when the video was filmed, it is no surprise she had not quite figured out the game yet. Like all babies, puppies need time to learn how the world works.
Eventually, Hayley would learn to peek behind the door and track down her sneaky feline brother.
But in that moment, Chivas had the upper paw.
