Some dogs have a favorite toy. Others have a favorite park. But one Golden Retriever in Miami has apparently claimed an entire coffee shop as his personal hangout.
Charlie recently moved to Miami with his owner, Lauren, and it did not take long for him to discover a local café that quickly became one of his favorite places.
The reason is pretty obvious: treats, attention and a staff that absolutely adores him.
Charlie became such a regular that the baristas started recognizing him and welcoming him like a VIP every time he showed up.
Earlier this summer, Charlie even had a dramatic reaction when he arrived at the café and discovered it was closed.
Apparently, the disappointment made an impression.

Now, the staff reportedly opens even earlier in case their favorite four-legged customer decides to stop by.
That is exactly what happened on Aug. 11, when Charlie arrived bright and early and immediately headed toward the café to greet his barista friends.
The Golden Retriever clearly knows the routine.
He patiently waits for his treat, soaks up the attention and happily wags his tail like he owns the place.
Viewers could not get enough of the special treatment.
“Wish I could get this treatment at places,” one commenter joked.
Another viewer came up with the perfect title for Charlie, calling him a “VIP, very important puppy,” or a “VIGR,” meaning “very important Golden Retriever.”
It is hard to argue with that.
Charlie’s café obsession has now been going strong for months, and his earlier meltdown over the closed doors apparently did nothing to discourage him.
Luckily for Charlie, the feeling seems mutual.
The baristas love seeing him just as much as he loves visiting them, making his morning coffee-shop trips a pretty perfect way for everyone to start the day.
