Golden Retrievers Whaler and Flapjack were not about to let their dad enjoy a peaceful afternoon on the water without them.
The two lucky pups live in Hingham, Massachusetts, where they spend plenty of time near the lake. But watching the water is never enough for these two — they want to be right in the middle of the action.
So when Dad tried to sneak away for a little alone time on his raft, Whaler and Flapjack quickly noticed.
Within seconds, both dogs launched what could only be described as a full-blown rescue mission.
They raced toward the water and jumped in, determined to reach Dad before he floated too far away.
Whaler wasted no time climbing onto the raft to check things out. But when Dad ended up falling into the water, the Golden Retriever decided he needed to take control.
Whaler grabbed the float and started dragging it back toward shore.
Dad tried to take it back, but Whaler apparently had other ideas.
After watching Dad fall off once, he seemed determined to make sure there would not be a repeat performance.
Meanwhile, Flapjack had his own mission.
Instead of focusing entirely on Dad, he got distracted searching for a ball he had lost in the water about three months earlier.
The result was total Golden Retriever chaos.
Their mom clearly found the whole situation hilarious, joking in the caption, “The PAWDACITY of Dad to relax without us!”
