Anyone who has ever had a noisy upstairs neighbor may relate a little too much to this cat’s struggle.
A Golden Retriever puppy named Winnie recently discovered the household cat tower, and within seconds, she seemed fully convinced the cozy kitty condo had been built just for her.
There was only one problem.
The family cat was not ready to give up his real estate.
In an adorable Instagram video shared by @miss.winnie.official, Winnie is seen happily sniffing her way into the bottom level of a pink cat tower. She looks completely thrilled with the setup, as if she has just found the perfect puppy clubhouse.

The text on the video reads, “Is this for me?” as Winnie crawls inside and starts exploring.
Then she makes her way through the soft carpeted tunnel and pokes her sweet little face out of the opening. At that point, the video jokes, “This seems right.”
Winnie clearly thinks she has found her new favorite spot.
But then the cat shows up.
The unimpressed feline quickly realizes his tower has been invaded by a very cheerful puppy who has absolutely no plans to leave.
As Winnie peeks out with her adorable freckled face, the cat starts swatting at her, making it very clear that this was not part of the rental agreement.
The video captions the moment simply: “rude.”
But Winnie is not bothered one bit.
Instead of backing down, she keeps exploring the tower and eventually climbs onto the third level, where a suspended hammock is waiting. Naturally, she settles in like she owns the place.
That is when the cat really starts protesting.
The video jokingly captions the swats as “smack, smack, smack,” while Winnie tries to dodge the offended cat and play with the dangling yarn balls at the same time.
It is peak puppy chaos.
Eventually, the cat retreats to the top perch, but not before delivering a few final warning swats to make sure Winnie understands who was there first.
In the end, the cat seems to accept defeat.
The final caption says it perfectly: “Fine, you can stay.”
The clip is such a hit because it captures the classic pet sibling dynamic: one animal discovering something new and claiming it immediately, while the original owner looks completely betrayed.
Winnie may be a Golden Retriever, but in that moment, she was clearly convinced she had every right to become a cat tower resident.
And judging by how comfortable she looked, she might not be moving out anytime soon.
